Safe housing is more than walls—it’s about dignity, health, and community. This year, Asante Aid, in partnership with Shelter Equity, went beyond building homes by constructing a toilet and sanitation block designed for all built households.

A Step Beyond Shelter

For families who once lacked access to proper sanitation, this facility is life‑changing. Each household now benefits from:

•       Private cubicles with lockable doors for safety and dignity
•       Solar lighting for night use
•       Ventilated structures for hygiene and comfort
•       Septic/biodigester system to reduce costs and protect the environment
•       Handwashing stations and shower areas to promote health and cleanliness

This design ensures that families not only live in secure homes but also enjoy proper sanitation, clean water, and sustainable facilities. By addressing hygiene and environmental sustainability, the project strengthens community health and resilience while restoring dignity to everyday life.
