Success Story: ELIZABETH ZAWADI CHARO

For years, Elizabeth Zawadi Charo, a devoted mother, lived in a fragile shelter that left her family vulnerable to rain, insecurity, and daily hardship. Her children grew up without the dignity of a safe home, relying on makeshift structures that could barely withstand the elements.

When the Homes of Hope program, in partnership with Shelter Equity (USA), reached Elizabeth’s family, everything changed. Today, she proudly stands in front of her new home — a symbol of resilience, dignity, and renewed hope. Her family received: 🏠 A strong, dignified house 🚽 A toilet and bathroom for proper sanitation 🔆 Solar installation for clean, reliable energy 🚲 A bicycle for transport and mobility 💧 Access to clean water for health and daily living

The joy on Elizabeth’s face when she stepped into her new home is a powerful reminder of what hope looks like. Her children now have a safe environment to grow, study, and dream.
